Professor T. Collin Campbell implicated, with strong evidence, the increase in animal protein consumption with an increase in cancer, diabetes, heart related diseases, and others. These, common in western countries, were considered rare in China.

Healthy eating habits mean, in China, secular habits. A rural chinese (80% population) eats more calories than a westerner, yet, stores less fat. Eats more starch, yet weighs less. And eats less animal products, having less LDL cholesterol and typical diseases of affluence.
